Niamh Walsh

Niamh Walsh is CHRO of Glen Dimplex, an Irish family owned global Electrical and Heating Manufacturer where she oversees the people agenda for over 8000 employees world-wide. Niamh is passionate about working for companies who value the HR function at the top table and its input to key business decisions. She is a strong advocate of modern HR practices, creative forward HR thinking and loves a challenge to bring the human to the forefront of all business discussions.

Niamh has had a diverse career, starting in Dell in Limerick and Poland and then spending a large portion of career internationally working in Digicel a mobile communications, business solutions media and entertainment business based in the Caribbean. As Group HR Director of Digicel she oversaw 4000 people in the Caribbean. She experienced large scale acquisition and organic growth and continuous streamlining which she maintains wouldn’t have happened without strong HR leadership and HR led decision making. On her return to Ireland she was Global HR Director for Actavo a global engineering Solutions business which went underwent a major culture transformation.

Niamh holds a Bachelor of Business Studies specialising in HRM and a Masters Degree in HRM  which she believes along with her family business  upbringing gave her a strong foundation and backbone to drive her belief in the importance of not only thinking the best in people but also supporting people to be at their best.

Niamh a self confessed culture junky loves to explore new countries and cultures and you can easily find her engrossed in a conversation with someone she has just met.
